EVENT SUPPORTERS

Media Partners

The Black Pounds Project (BPP) was founded by CJ Webley, CEO as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company. The Project was created in direct response to the growing number of Black business owners that are failing due to a lack of business acumen or understanding of due diligence requirements. Many have no awareness of services they can access or the free business support that is available to them.

The project provides business information, support, mentoring coaching and signposting assistance for black-owned businesses. We also engage with established enterprise services like the Local Enterprise Partnership, The Growth Hub, Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and the Banking sector as part of our partnership working plan.  The Black Pounds Project also provides relevant training in professional development for black-owned businesses to have greater access to finance and business support in the West Midlands.

Impact Brixton is a community-led co-working and event space on a mission to support diverse and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. We serve a thriving community of over 170 freelancers, creators and social change makers, and run a regular programme of social and educational events covering all themes from financial wellbeing, to the future of creativity, to cryptocurrencies & NFT's and beyond.

We have had the honour of partnering with some great organisations and projects who have helped us grow our impact, including collaborating with Apple on a 3-week radio programme for underrepresented young people, and being chosen as the space partner for the launch of 'Fuming', a documentary commissioned by The Social Innovation Partnership to explore the disproportionate affects of air pollution on marginalised communities. We are proud to be the first Black-owned co-working space in the UK, and this has a big influence on the vibrancy and inclusivity of our culture.
